A UDF activist who was detained under emergency regulations by members of the SAP in Middelburg, Cape, on 16 June 1986. He was held for five months. During this time, several false charges were brought against him. He was found guilty on all those charges and subsequently ordered to pay the State a large amount of money. He got financial assistance through the Western Province Council of Churches for his release.
