He had his property destroyed and looted in Duduza, Nigel, Tvl, in 1984. Animosity between Mr Namane and a named former mayor led to violent conflict which engulfed the entire community. The mayor allegedly incited youths with fabricated stories about Namane as a result of which his property was destroyed.
