Was shot in the hand by members of the SAP while sitting in a house in Colesberg, Cape, in July 1985, after unrest had erupted in the township. He was arrested in hospital by police who then beat him severely at the police station. Mr Nazo was then charged and held in custody for two weeks before being acquitted.
