Was severely injured after she was shot, assaulted and forced to drink petrol when she was abducted with her mother and cousin into Kwesine hostel after they boarded a taxi in Katlehong, Tvl, on 23 December 1993. They were forced to strip and then taken to a house where they were assaulted. They were then forced to drink petrol before being doused with it and shot. Cynthia was the only survivor of this incident.
