Was shot and stabbed to death when IFP supporters attacked his home at KwaMbonambi, KwaZulu, near Richards Bay, Natal, on 24 March 1994 in political conflict between IFP and ANC supporters during the run-up to the April 1994 elections. His two sisters and brother were also shot and stabbed to death in the attack, and the family home was burnt down
