Description
An ANC member was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to 12 years’ imprisonment for allegedly being part of a hand grenade attack on the Bophuthatswana consulate building during an ANC protest march in Kimberley, Cape, on 25 May 1993. The grenade bounced back into the crowd, and the explosion killed an ANC member and injured several others. Three ANC members were refused amnesty for the incident.
