Was arrested and repeatedly tortured in police custody in Benoni, Transvaal, in July 1986, allegedly for being involved in burning local councillors’ houses. At the time, Mr Ntuli was a member of the Tokoza Youth Congress and secretary of the SRC at Thoko Thaba High School. He spent three years in detention in Modderbee prison and was released with restrictions.
