Was shot dead by members of the SAP in Nyanga, Cape Town, on 2 September 1985, during widespread unrest that followed the Pollsmoor march, held a few days earlier to demand the release of Nelson Mandela. At least 28 people were shot dead by police in the aftermath of the march.
