Was shot by a member of the SAP on 24 March 1991 in Daveyton, Transvaal , in an event known as the ‘Daveyton massacre’, when police opened fire on a group of about 200 residents at a meeting to protest against an IFP gathering in the area. Thirteen people were killed and 29 injured.
