Was killed on 17 August 1986 when the car she was travelling in with her mother detonated a landmine set by MK operatives between Nelspruit and Karina in Transvaal. Her mother, four other adults and one child died in this incident. The ANC’s rural landmine campaign was aimed at the SADF and commandos but was called off as a result of the high rate of civilian casualties.
