Was shot by SAP members in Phahameng, Bultfontein, OFS, on 16 June 1980, when police opened fire on a crowd after a Soweto Day commemoration service. Though seriously wounded, Mr Sejake was then assaulted by police and sustained severe stomach and leg injuries. He died in hospital three days later. An inquest was held but the family was never informed of the outcome.
