An ANC supporter who survived a shooting by members of the KwaZulu Police at Sundumbili, KwaZulu, near Mandini, Natal, on 18 December 1993, during ongoing harassment of her family. On 22 January 1994, Ms Shabane had her home burnt down in an arson attack, allegedly by members of the KwaZulu Police.
