Was shot and killed by an Inkatha supporter during ongoing political conflict at Imbali Pietermaritzburg, on 12 January 1989. An amnesty applicant testified that he had been instructed to kill another person, but because of the dark, he mistakenly killed Mr Shezi. He was granted amnesty (AC/1999/0334).
