Was injured in an explosion set by supporters of the IFP in September 1992 in Ratanda, Heidelberg, Tvl, during a labour dispute between striking COSATU-affiliated FAWU workers and non-striking IFP-affiliated UWUSA workers which resulted in violent conflict in the area between June and December 1992.
