SOBUKWE, Robert Mangaliso

Age 54

Description
President of the PAC who was imprisoned and tortured on Robben Island on 3 May 1960. He was detained again on 4 May 1969 in Kimberley, Cape, during protests against the Pass laws. He died on 26 February 1978 in a Kimberley hospital while he was under banning order.
