A shopsteward who was burnt to death when his house was petrol-bombed in KwaNobuhle, Uitenhage, Cape, on 19 July 1989 following a dispute between employees and employers at Goodyear Tyres where his brother worked. At the time, there was tension between police and the shopstewards’ council, because the council had demanded the unbanning of the ANC and SACP.
