Was shot dead in Katlehong, Transvaal, on 7 October 1991, allegedly by members of the SAP. Mr Tshabalala was one of twenty people killed and twenty six injured during violence following the funeral of Sam Ntuli, the assassinated general secretary of the Civic Association of the Southern Transvaal when unidentified gunmen opened fire on mourners. Police were allegedly responsible for at least four of the deaths. See Ntuli funeral.
