Description
Was shot and injured by members of the SAP in Mitchells Plain, Cape Town, on 29 August 1985 during extensive unrest that broke out following the Pollsmoor march held the previous day. Ms Van Dyk lost an eye in the shooting. Two young boys were shot dead.
