A UDF activist and internally trained MK operative who was killed on 23 July 1989 when the explosive device that he was planting outside a public toilet in Athlone, Cape Town, detonated. A female MK operative also died in the blast. The Commission was unable to make a finding on allegations of security force involvement in their deaths.
