Was shot dead with his brother when ANC self-defence unit (SDU) members opened fire on the vehicle in which they were travelling while on holiday near Port St Johns, Transkei, on 13 April 1993. Three other passengers survived the attack, which followed the assassination of MK/ANC/SACP leader, Chris Hani. Four SDU members were granted amnesty (AC/1999/0249). See self defence units (SDU).
