Description
An ANC supporter who had her house in Bhambayi, near KwaMashu, Durban, burnt down in June 1993 in political conflict between the ‘Red’ and ‘Green’ factions. When Ms Xaba’s husband returned to the house after fleeing the area with his family, he was shot and killed. Monitors estimated that as many as 200 Bhambayi residents had died violently between May and July 1993.
