Her house was burnt down in November 1993 when IFP supporters carried out several attacks on ANC supporters in the KwaKhoza and Nogobhoza areas, KwaZulu, near Eshowe, Natal. One person was killed. More than forty five homes were burnt down, allegedly under the direction of the local IFP-supporting chief who wanted to drive ANC supporters out of the area.
