MATHENGELA, Donald Sifiso

Description
An MK operative who was detained, assaulted and held in solitary confinement by members of the SAP in Germiston, Transvaal, in 1969, after entering the country on a mission to recruit ANC members. He was then imprisoned on Robben Island, Cape Town, for a period of seven years, where he was severely ill-treated. After his release he was again detained in 1979 and tortured in Durban, after which he experienced severe psychiatric problems.
