Was shot dead by members of the SAP in Soweto, on 29 May 1992 during conflict between mainly IFP-supporting hostel-dwellers and ANC-supporting residents. Mr Matsoge and others were guarding the township against expected night attacks by hostel-dwellers when he was shot ten times in the chest, arms, stomach and feet.
