A UDF supporter who was shot dead by named Inkatha supporters and members of the KwaZulu Police in Clermont, near Durban, on 15 July 1988. He was killed outside his home and in front of his 11-year-old son. Mr Mkhize was a prominent leader in Clermont, and there is evidence of a hit list in which his name appeared. His family continued to be intimidated and threatened after his death.
