Was injured in a bomb blast by IFP supporters in Ratanda, near Heidelberg, Tvl, on 28 September 1992. A labour dispute between striking COSATU-aligned FAWU workers and non-striking IFP-aligned UWUSA workers caused violent conflict from July to December 1992.
