Was detained for a week by members of the Bophuthatswana Police in Leeuwfontein, Tvl, during 1989. There was strong resistance against the forceful incorporation of Leeuwfontein and Braklaagte into Bophuthatswana and a meeting held by the two communities was violently dispersed. In the conflict that followed some members of the security forces were killed.
