It is assumed he was burnt to death by Vlakplaas operatives in Vlaklaagte, KwaNdebele, during July 1986. He and eight other youths recruited by Vlakplaas askaris for supposed military training were killed and the house they were staying in was set alight. Their bodies were burnt beyond recognition.
